*Call Out* Create an Arts Festival - Emerge Project

What is it?

Emerge is an arts festival model which is commissioned and delivered by young people across multiple sites on the same day. Emerge Festivals allow young people to be creative and produce festivals- almost 400 over the last 3 years, and produce work and content that has been enjoyed by over 5500 people. The project is funded and designed by The Mighty Creatives with funding from The Spirit of 2012, who are a charity that provides access to creativity and culture for young people aged 0-25.

We are recruiting young people to get involved in building an arts festival from scratch. The mini-festival will be loosely inspired by Shakespeare, there will be 12 festivals happening simultaneously across the day in different locations. There are opportunities to take on various roles such as performer, event co-ordinator, publicity officer or technical support.

We are working towards two of the locations, Spalding and Boston. You will get the chance to work with professional spoken word artists Mythm in Spalding and Charley Genever – Peterborough Poet Laureate 2016 in Boston.

There is also a chance to gain an Arts Award, which is a programme that develops and accesses both arts-related and transferable skills such as creativity, communication, planning and teamwork for people up to the age of 25.

Who is it for?

The project is for 12 -25’s who are interested in the arts and want to get involved in the roles available. No previous experience is necessary.
