Aged 12-25 and want to make things happen? In Youth Takeover you are given the opportunity to take control and create your own events in the community – like music gigs, film screening and festivals. Have fun whilst gaining skills in arts, events management and marketing.
HOW TO GET INVOLVED:
There are two sub-sections who are currently working on specific projects at the South Holland Centre in Spalding. Each meets fortnightly on alternating Wednesdays. Feel free to join up to either or both groups!
YTO Group: This group will be organising 'Music in the MarketPlace', the annual outdoor family festival to be held on Friday 5 August. The group meet fortnightly from Wednesday 8th June 4.30pm - 5.30pm.
LOV Film producers: This group will be working on the LOV Film project to organise a film festival. The group meet fortnightly from Wednesday 15th June 4:30pm – 5:30pm,

Acoustic Gardens - Live Music in Ayscoughfee Gardens organised by Youth Takeover

The South Holland Centre’s young programmers 'Youth Takeover' go alfresco for the summer edition of their popular Acoustic Café.
This music event brings local, young acts to Spalding’s beautiful Ayscoughfee Gardens playing live music for everyone to enjoy.
It’s a free event so just turn up with a blanket and maybe a picnic for a relaxing summer evening on the South lawn.
Music in the Market Place – Free outdoor family friendly festival organised by Youth Takeover
[Friday 5th August 12pm-5pm]
Spalding’s Music in the Market Place returns for a fabulous fifth year.
Come and have a lazy summer afternoon lounging in the deckchairs listening to live music from young local artists or join in the family friendly fun in the Market Place.
Initiated, created and organised by young people who attend the South Holland Centre’s Youth Takeover group, this mini festival celebrates Lincolnshire’s young musicians.

LOV Film Festival – Festival celebrating independent film produced by young film programmers at South Holland Centre
[Friday 28th & Saturday 29th October. Throughout the day, film times TBC]
The LOV Film Festival celebrates independent and specialist film with a two day festival at South Holland Centre programmed by young producers from Youth Takeover. We will be hosting a range of films, activities and drop-in sessions throughout the day and there’ll be something for everyone to get involved in!
