LOV Young People's Programme

LOV Young People's Programme - join today!

LOV is a network of 9 arts venues across Lincolnshire that come together to let people know about how much is going on in our vibrant county. We currently run the LOV Young People's Programme in which young people aged 12-25 can get involved in a range of projects and opportunities that are free!

Is it for me?

Whatever you're interested in, whether it's visual arts, crafts, dance, theatre, film, music or learning new skills through workshops, we're here to help. We offer decision making groups for you to 'take control' of your local arts venues. Each group is individual to the venue and offers it's participants a chance to programme their own events, alongside the professional programme at the venue and much more! We give our young people the chance to be audience members, artists, producers and programmers.

We regularly have visiting artists who work with our young people in workshops, allowing them to gain skills from professionals and make invaluable contacts to help with their careers. In the past we have worked with Lincoln Art Collective General Practice, Photographer Andy Weekes, Lincolnshire band Alfie Jack, James Mayle from iMAGE SKOOL, Zest Theatre, Egg Box Theatre, Stand By Theatre and many more!

As part of our decision making groups we offer free trips to festivals and events across Lincolnshire and beyond. We have visited Edinburgh Festival Fringe, Departure Lounge, The Roundhouse in London, Bristol Old Vic, Roundabout Pop Up Theatre, SO Festival, Broadway Cinema and many more!

We have also hosted many successful and exciting events across Lincolnshire in and around our venues. We run the popular Music in the Market Place held annually at Spalding Market Place. We take over the market square with a stage and brilliant local musicians along with deck chairs to relax in. This year we have moved the event to Ayscoughfee Hall in Spalding, where we are having live music and an outdoor cinema screening of 'Grease' sing-along.

We also ran 4 successful Film Festivals across 4 of our venues. Parallax Film Festival was held at The Collection and Usher Gallery in Lincoln, and attracted hundreds of independent film submissions nationally and internationally. A fantastic selection of independent films were screened and one of them; A Love Story, later went on to win a BAFTA! We still run monthly film screenings and have lots of events coming up.

We are currently taking applications for our annual Lincoln Art Summer School (24-28th July), a week long workshop for 16-19's facilitated by General Practice and held at The Collection and Usher Gallery. The free summer school explores experimental art with photography, sculpture, sound, film and drawing and finishes with an exhibition of the work created. You can apply here.
