With the help of LOV Project Workers, LOV Film Project Coordinator, The Collections Access Officer and The British Film Institute (BFI) and Film Hub Central East, a group of young people are organising their own Film Festival.
Parallax Film Festival is programming a selection of British and International independent films to be screened at The Collection in Lincoln on the 12th and 13th November 2016. The group have been in control of every aspect of their festival, from choosing the name and theme, selecting the films, doing the marketing to taking initiative to offer film submissions from film makers.
In each weekly session the group have been watching trailers, researching, reading reviews and watching films in order to select a handful of well-known and brilliant independent films to screen at the festival.
To complete the line-up the group wants you to submit your films to screen alongside a range of established films to celebrate everything independent film-making has to offer.
They have chosen the theme of 'Youth' to base their film selections on. The films should be about, represent or focus on the concept of youth. It can explore how young people interact with each other, how older generations see young people, how we look back on our youth - the possibilities are endless! Therefore, if your film relates to the theme of youth then we want you to submit it!
