Marketing Internship - Lincoln Drill Hall (6 months)

*This opportunity is now closed*

Lincoln Drill Hall are looking for an enthusiastic and driven individual, committed to developing their skills in the area of marketing and communications. Experience of writing and using social media would be very useful and it’s essential that you are organised and willing to learn.

You will work in all aspects of marketing and communications, providing administrative and organisational support for our Sales and Communications Manager with a focus on:

• the development of Lincoln Drill Hall’s social media presence
• the promotion of the venue’s café bar and related activities
• building awareness and participation in the Drill Hall’s ‘Butterfly Club’ programme for adults with learning disabilities.

Working in a small team and busy office, you must be a team player. They are also looking for someone who is proactive, driven and able to work on their own initiative.

Their aim is to provide a step up into the industry for aspiring arts practitioners, with real responsibilities and hands-on experience. Their internships are about gaining practical skills and on-the-job knowledge to help develop your career, not about making coffee (although the odd cup is always welcome). It’s important to stress though that the role will involve basic tasks, such as envelope stuffing, overprinting of promotional posters and flyers and maintaining displays, helping visitors to complete questionnaires etc.

Ideally you will have an interest either in theatre or in the wider arts and cultural world and you must be aged 18 – 24 yrs old, and registered as unemployed on the day of applying.

This internship will last for six months from Wednesday 30th March and you will work 30 hours per week. Salary will be paid at the new national living wage of £7.20 per hour.

Apply by sending a CV and Covering letter to or to Lincoln Drill Hall, Free School Lane, Lincoln, LN2 1EY.

The post is part funded through the Creative Employment Programme and candidates must be registered with their local Job Centre Plus.

Closing date for applications is Friday 11 March 2016 at 12noon.
