The stage from which the orchestra will play has transformed into a spaceship ready to take flight in performance, a thick atmospheric haze settling, Chinese lanterns lining the ceiling like a whole solar system just orbiting a few meters above our heads, two giant moons floating around behind the orchestra showcasing the marvellous animations, created by Lincoln university’s extensive tech department and it's greatly talented students, we truly have successfully captured an adventurous and spacey vibe. We are ready to hear the first taste of our chosen pieces being played by the legendary City of London Sinfonia. Also to make this a new level of intense the whole performance will be live-streamed on our YouTube channel.
Despite the intensity of the upcoming performance, we are ready. I myself have looked forward to this moment since the start. I, like some of the others here in instrumenta, was recruited voluntarily through school. I chose to join because it seemed to me to be an almost one in a life time experience, to plan an orchestral performance! And of course I was not wrong.
