NCCD Young Designers 'Summer of Sculpture'
The NCCD is currently hosting Young Designers’s ‘Summer of Sculpture’, which involves a series of art workshops every first Saturday of the month.
We have also started an Instagram campaign called #justsculpt91, in
order to celebrate our 91 days of sculpture at NCCD Young Designers, and we
would like people to contribute their sculptural pictures, (which will
hopefully result in an exhibition/event at the end of summer).
The workshops are as follows…
Saturday 5th July with- Wire Manipulation, from 10am-1pm at NCCD, Sleaford. Using the NCCD’s current exhibition, ICONS, as inspiration and with the guidance of artist Anna Krystyna Casey, we will discover the sculptural potential in wire. You can look at some of Anna’s work here:http://www.pinterest.com/annakrystyna/
Saturday
2nd August- Sculpture. Using NCCD’s Meekyoung Shin’s exhibition of soap
sculptures based on the precious contents of Belton House as a starting point,
artist Samantha Robinson will help you create your very own sculptural
artefacts using wire and 3D bases.
Saturday
6th September- Soap carving. Drawing ‘Summer of
Sculpture’ to a soapy end at Belton House, here’s a chance to experiment with
the materials used in sculpture with the help of Samantha Robinson. Transport
will be provided to and from the NCCD.
Share your Summer of
Sculpture with us on Instagram! To celebrate our 91 days of sculpture
here at NCCD Young Designers we want your pictures. Post them and use #justsculpt91.
