We are very excited to announce we have appointed a new LOV Film Coordinator to support the coordination of the next phase of our LOV Film Strand. We'd like to welcome Ben Reynolds to the LOV team, he will be joining us in August. For now we have a few words from him about his background and what he is looking forwards to in his new role.

HELLO LOV FOLLOWERS!

I’m Ben, and I have recently graduated from the University of Lincoln with a first class honours in BA (hons) Film and Television (which is awesome). I have loved the last few years living in Lincolnshire, and have really tried to push for more public engagement with the arts, especially film, throughout my time thus far. I cannot wait to build on that as part of the LOV team.

So a little summary of me, because, you know...why not? I (obviously) love film, independent cinema especially. I tend not to enjoy blockbusters, but there are rare examples of a good few! I have been the school representative of the Lincoln School of Film and Media for the last year, and recently won the Mary Stuart Award for Student Engagement for my work. Last year I set up my own film production company, Green Eden Films, under which I have produced various short films and am currently in preproduction of a few more. I have also been involved in coordinating two film festivals in Lincoln, and have loved every minute of it. I like to travel (cliché I know, but true), and have been lucky enough to travel across Europe as well as spend a semester studying in the United States.

I am so looking forward to the role at LOV, and putting all of my past experiences together, into helping young people engage themselves with independent film, and arts venues in Lincolnshire. We may be a rural county, but Lincolnshire is also thriving with artistic life, you just have to discover it.
